Redi-Rock Walls of New England - Anchor Subaru

When Rhode Island's largest Subaru Dealership needed retaining walls, it was imperative that the solution wouldn't affect the day-to-day business. For that reason, traditional reinforced solutions that would require major excavation weren't an option, but Redi-Rock Walls of New England offered a better solution.

The minimal excavation needed for two gravity walls -- totaling over 5,000 square feet (465 square meters) and reaching heights of 15 feet (4.6 meters) -- kept the car dealership in business. With the drive-through lanes above the wall remaining intact throughout construction, car sales could continue as usual.

On top of keeping business running smoothly, Redi-Rock Walls of New England created a custom color scheme to match the look of the natural stone in the surrounding area.

Wilbert Precast - Garske Residence

For the homeowners of this project, their retaining walls needed to be as beautiful as they were functional. So, when presented the opportunity to have similar large blocks installed for free, they chose to stick with Redi-Rock provided by Wilbert Precast.

The natural look of Redi-Rock Ledgestone texture helped deliver the homeowner's grand vision. The finished project used gravity and freestanding walls, steps, and planter blocks coming to a grand total of 14,775 square feet (1,373 square meters). Although space on-site was very limited during construction, Redi-Rock gravity wall blocks worked perfectly.

Now the homeowners have more usable space in their yard for outdoor living and entertaining, without any aesthetic compromise.

Signature Stone - Deer Creek Crossing Bridge

With a growing demand for water from farmers in northeast Colorado, the Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Project set out to expand water storage potential in Chatfield State Park. Part of the planned expansion included building an improved reservoir perimeter road, and Signature Stone had the perfect solution for a necessary bridge.

Engineers used Redi-Rock Positive Connection (PC) blocks to allow the bridge abutment walls to reach heights of 18 feet (5.5 meters), as well as meet the project requirements set forth by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). Freestanding walls and caps topped off the project (and bridge), while the Ledgestone texture complemented the nearby Colorado mountain range.

The simplicity of the Redi-Rock installation process was one element that kept the bridge project on time and on budget. As part of a multi-phase development of the park, now the reservoir can continue to expand and bring water to local residents on schedule.

Water Application Project of the Year

Piedmont Precast - Marsh Creek Watershed

Before the Marsh Creek Watershed stormwater management facility could help reduce flooding in the surrounding communities and improve water quality, it needed multiple retaining walls. It also needed those retaining walls to have minimal environmental impact and to complement the natural surroundings.

Project designers chose to use over 9,000 square feet (836 square meters) of Redi-Rock products provided by Piedmont Precast. Gravity and freestanding walls helped complete a bio-retention pond and handicapped accessible trail area providing further access to the site.

Piedmont also went the extra mile on the project, creating special Ledgestone veneers for a concrete spillway to commemorate the anniversary of a past major flood.

Materials, Inc./Buildology - Mogollon Road Restoration

Over the years, the once thriving mining town of Mogollon, New Mexico has seen its fair share of natural disasters. But in 2013, a severe downpour brought flooding with the power of a freight train through the town -- destroying the only accessible way in or out the historic community.

In order to protect the roadway once repaired, the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) needed effective drainage solutions that were durable, complemented the historic community's aesthetics, and could work with space limitations. Project engineers found the perfect solution in Materials Inc./Buildology and Redi-Rock.

Using over 3,000 blocks, the completed project combined both Redi-Rock Positive Connection (PC) and Gravity solutions, reaching a max height of 16.5 feet (5 meters). Local residents were very involved in the design process and selected the Cobblestone texture in a custom color to match the natural surroundings.

Now that the project is completed, Mogollon residents can rest easy whenever there's heavy rainfall.
