Project Details
Project Name: Pinseekers Golf Owner: Private, Commercial Manufacturer: King’s Material Location: Tiffin, IA Wall Type: Gravity Texture: Ledgestone Year Built: 2022 Wall Area: 6183.6 sq ft (574.5 sq m)

The Challenge: Blend Aesthetics with Performance
Welcome to Pinseekers in Tiffin, Iowa–a hybrid golf and entertainment facility complete with putting, bowling, sports simulators, and a full-service restaurant. With cutting-edge amenities and a modern building design, the site’s required infrastructure needed to fulfill a dual purpose: blend harmoniously and provide a lasting solution.
Parking lot areas needed proper retention, and Pinseekers’ owners desired a big block wall system that featured the look of natural stone and could be built as a gravity wall to minimize excavation and installation times. Ultimately, a Redi-Rock gravity retaining wall system was selected to meet these goals, and Redi-Rock producer King’s Material supported the project at every step in the process.
Why Redi-Rock? Big Block Power, Faster Installation
Due to the massive size of Redi-Rock blocks, the parking lot wall could be built quickly and efficiently using a machine-set installation process. The contractor installed several block sizes, including 60 in (1524 mm) blocks, followed by 41 in (1041 mm) and 28 in (711 mm) blocks, finishing the wall with freestanding top units. The completed wall features 6183.6 sq ft (574.5 sq m) of Redi-Rock blocks.
The natural stone texture of the Ledgestone face added the aesthetic appeal the developer wanted—so much so that this project marked the first of several Redi-Rock phases on the property.

- Estimating & Bidding: Accurate estimates were provided, including block quantities and delivery costs.
- Approval & Installation Prep: With everything in place, the contractor was cleared to move forward, with King’s readily available for installation support when needed.

“The gravity system helps due to the massive slope coming at the wall… so the contractors do not have to use a reinforced system wall. Using a large block retaining wall also speeds up the installation.”
