When this new East Tennessee retail center was planned, the developer faced a steep embankment that limited usable space for parking and building placement. With little room for geogrid reinforcement, the project needed a tall gravity retaining wall to retain soil effectively and safely support the new structure above, while maintaining an attractive, professional finish for a public-facing commercial site.

These massive, engineered blocks deliver the strength of a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall without requiring the extensive excavation often required for reinforced installations.

Installed by George Brothers Excavating, Construction & Fine Soils LLC, who also served as the site’s grading contractor, the wall system simplified construction and reduced project timelines. Despite limited space and nearby stormwater infrastructure, the Redi-Rock retaining wall system provided a safe, reliable, and visually cohesive solution.
