Roquefort, France, Adds Parking, Keeps Charm with Redi-Rock
Project Name: Town of Roquefort Parking Expansion Owner: Town of Roquefort Manufacturer: The Sévigné Company Location: Roquefort, Aveyron, France Texture: Ledgestone
The Challenge: Expanding Parking Without Compromising Historic Character
The town of Roquefort in Aveyron, France, is a popular tourist destination. Nestled into ancient cliffsides, it draws visitors from around the world with its historic charm and world-famous Roquefort cheese. But the town's aging parking infrastructure could no longer keep pace with the steady stream of tourists, prompting the proposal of an ambitious multi-level terraced parking project.
During a town hall meeting, Grégory Douzyèche of The Sévigné Company proposed Redi-Rock retaining wall solutions to Roquefort town officials. Although another retaining wall system had already been recommended, Grégory and the Sévigné team demonstrated the advantages of Redi-Rock over the competing option, ultimately winning the project.

Why Redi-Rock? Protecting the Landscape, Enhancing the Experience
Redi-Rock was selected for:
- A natural look that fits the setting. The Ledgestone texture complements Roquefort's rugged cliffsides and historic architecture, creating a retaining wall system that blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
- Fast installation with machine-set technology. Redi-Rock blocks were installed with minimal crews and machine-set placement, helping minimize construction time in a busy tourist destination.
- Retaining Wall Design flexibility. The completed three-tier wall system incorporates new parking areas and prevents Roquefort’s slopes from future erosion.
“We fought for the Redi-Rock to be placed on this construction site. The proof is that we are here today.” -Grégory Douzyèche, The Sévigné Company
